In this tutorial learn how to create a realistic tornado using nParticles and fluid dynamics inside of Maya. Plus, discover how to manipulate the dynamic controls, customization color attributes, and add multiple particle systems the complement one another.
I have working around two hours creating “my tornado” following all your instructions and I am very satisfied!! 😉 But…i want to exported to Cryengine 3 and here comes the nightmare..
I have all plugins I need, Crytools installed and working perfectly, but after do all the steps (based in another tutorial of the tube) when I want to validate the export, always says the same :
– Export node “cryExportNode_tornado” has no meshes
I think we are talking about particles/fluids, so I guess there are no meshes involved..but, no way to do any exportation..I always get the same message..any help? Thank you, and again, thank you for this wonderful tutorial, so clear and well explained.
Try converting the fluid to a polygon by going to Modify – Convert – Fluid to Polygon. Then hide the fluid simulation and import the mesh into Cryengine. You might have to mess around with the textures after converting it to a mesh. Let me know if that works!
